What could be better than the taste of a fresh vegetable picked right from the garden?

This week, we are all about Veggies. Are you an old pro? You will appreciate our wonderful selection of Tomatoes, Peppers, and Lettuces. Been a while since you planted a garden? let us help you learn to utilize some great labor-saving and space-saving tips that will put the fun back into growing your own fresh food. Never grown a garden? We can help you get started with a good plan as well as the basic seeds and plants you need, and the advice and directions you'll need for a successful garden experience!

Bring in a simple (or complex if you prefer) drawing of your available garden space. Graph Paper works very well--you can have each square represent 6inches, or 1 foot, or 10 feet. Be sure to note North and East, and any trees, tall fences, or buildings that are within 10 feet of your garden. Will a water hose reach your garden space? Make a list of the veggies your family enjoys, and note any that are eaten quite often. We should be able to give you a good plan for your custom Vegetable Garden!

One of the most often asked questions is "when is it time to plant tomatoes?" While many believe planting early is the key to harvesting early, the extra time spent getting the ground prepared and protecting the plants from too cool weather is certainly something you need to keep in mind. In general, waiting until late April or early May to set out your tomato plants is certainly acceptable, and is preferred for pepper plants, melons, squashes, and cucumbers--all of which must have very warm soil temperatures for the best results.

If you are looking for a specific product, please ask! Sometimes we are able to get or find plants from many sources.
